			<title>Board to consider Harts school land settlement</title>

&lt;p&gt;HAMLIN - The Lincoln County Board of Education was set to consider a settlement of $125,000 for the final parcel of land for the new Harts PK-8 School in the south of the county, early this week.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;As reported last week, a jury trial was scheduled to get underway in Lincoln County Circuit Court last Wednesday morning last, May 9, 2012. However, The Lincoln Journal has learned that consultations between the parties precluded the need for a trial. 			<title>Election passes smoothly</title>

&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;HAMLIN - Last week’s primary election in Lincoln County passed relatively smoothly, with significant gains for one group of candidates. Even a problem with one precinct’s machines was dealt with successfully on election night, and final results were issued around midnight.
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Polls closed in Lincoln County at 7:30 p.m. and the first election workers, from the Precinct 12 in Fez, arrived at the Hamlin count center shortly after 8 p.m.
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;By 9:30 p.m., results from 10 of the county’s 16 precincts were issued, giving a clear indication of the evening’s trends. A problem with the shutting down of iVotronic voting machines at Precinct 3 in McCorkle resulted in a…&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
