However, The Lincoln Journal has learned that consultations between the parties precluded the need for a trial. Even a problem with one precinct’s machines was dealt with successfully on election night, and final results were issued around midnight. </p><p>Polls closed in Lincoln County at 7:30 p.m. and the first election workers, from the Precinct 12 in Fez, arrived at the Hamlin count center shortly after 8 p.m. </p><p>By 9:30 p.m., results from 10 of the county’s 16 precincts were issued, giving a clear indication of the evening’s trends.
